My Pink IC

Singapore Pink Ic

After staying in Singapore for more than 14 years, finally I took my oath to be a Singapore citizenship today. Times past very fast, just a blink of eye, everything changes. That’s Singapore; the vast and steady development of this country has attracted my people to make this place into their home.

Many people has called me a traitor. But when I asked them “if Singapore government were to give you Singapore citizenship would you take?” All of them said YES! so who is the traitor now :)

For most of us who came from a third world country, it is a dream for us to go overseas, even if it’s only for a holiday. To be able to study here is such a privilege. Its education standard is one of the the tip top in Asia. To be able to work here is a blessing! To get a PR is just anyone dream! And for me, to be a Singaporean is an achievement.

I know many Singaporean (and many foreigners) are unhappy with their life and system here, at some point I fully agree with them. But again if to compare with some country from the other part of the world , they would be much appreciative and grateful to be able to stay in this blessed country.

Like they say “Even cloud has silver lining”

To end this, I would like to thanks to Pak Lukman who sent me this supportive SMS:

Congratulation my friend! Singapore need more qualified people like you. Do your best to serve your country, especially to tighten the relationship of these two countries! Cheers!

I agree with you too, but there’s always 2 sides of the story. In the end of the day is about contenment. I knew alot of Nepalese that wanted to join Singapore army force but they could not.

If people think army is a waste of time, then to waste time is not only by going to NS. I too have wasted during my school time and wished I should have worked even harder. It depends on how we take and look at things..
